585 VINYLESTER GELCOAT
This gelcoat is tougher and adheres better than standard isothalic polyester gelcoat for re-gelcoating.  It is used where greater abrasion and water resistance is required.

Common Uses:  Hull bottom coating for trailerable boats and commercial boat
                              decks, fuel tank coating.

555 VINYLESTER GLASS FLAKE BARRIER COAT
A glass flake reinforced vinylester gelcoat for coating fiberglass, steel, and aluminum. 
This membrane is reinforced with thousands of glass flakes that form dozens of micron
thick layers within the coating.  This is designed to be an impermeable barrier to seawater
and a host of substances such as gasoline, diesel fuel and many acids.

 Common Uses:  Boat hull, underwater barrier coat, tank lining.      
                               Can be applied on fiberglass, sandblasted steel and aluminum.

555 APPLICATION GUIDE
Application information: Actual coverage is @ 35 sq. ft. per gallon at 35 mils. Roller applications yield approx. 10 to 15 mils per coat.  In order to avoid sanding between coats, while still maintaining optimum adhesion between layers, we recommend that recoats be applied within 8 hours
when exposed to direct sunlight, and within  24 hours in indirect sunlight.










FOURSEAL PRIMER
Fourseal Primer is a high build polyester coating used extensively for refinishing
fiberglass parts which require sanding and fairing work. It is an excellent finish for plugs
& short run molds (1-5 pieces) made of plywood, Masonite etc.

If recoats do take place outside the recommended ranges, the surface should be washed with Toluene or 1271 epoxy solvent, changing rags often. Follow by sanding the surface with medium grit paper to roughen the surface, then apply recoat.

Application guide
 Fourseal primer can be sprayed as supplied, or thinned with lacquer thinner up to 33%.  To catalyze, use a brand of Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide (MEKP) specifically designed for gel coats. Do not catalyze at levels below 2% or above 3% as this may result in curing problems or other physical defects.

Also excellent for many industrial uses: interiors of fiberglass tanks and containment areas, chemical process vessels, waste treatment clarifiers, wherever long term corrosion resistance is required.  Can be brushed, rolled and sprayed.

     passes to fill a multitude of imperfections).


*   Sands Easy, 4 hours after spraying @ 77º F.


*   Does not load the sandpaper when sanding.


*   Can be buffed to a semi-gloss if a quick plug 

    pattern is needed. Follow normal wax procedures as 

    you would with a new mold.


*   Good adhesion with existing polyester molds when 
 
    procedures are followed from the application guide.








Fourseal Primer should be applied in 1-3 mil passes to a film thickness of 18-22 mils.
Make sure spray equipment air pressure is properly adjusted. Keep the spray
equipment and connecting air lines free of water and oil.

(Fourseal can be brushed or rolled. However, spraying yields a smoother, more
consistent finish.)

Gel Time: 15 - 18 Minutes- 2% MEKP @ 77º F. Tack Free: 1.0 - 1.5 Hours

5. Cover the gel paste with wax paper. Starting at one edge, smooth the wax paper surface with a straight edge, pushing out air bubbles and excess gel paste as you work your way across the patch.

6. When cured, remove the wax paper.

7. Using a sanding block with 400 grit paper and  water with dish soap, smooth the patch down to the existing surface contour.

8. Next sand with 600 grit, then 800 grit to
further smooth the surface and buff  to a gloss with buffing compound and wax
(optional). 




304 TOOLING GELCOAT
A “high heat”, abrasion resistant ISO gelcoat designed
for use in mold making applications.  Available in orange.

1. Clean and dewax the surface with 361Verikleen, 1271 epoxy solvent or 
lacquer thinner.

2. Scrape or sand the inside of the gouge being careful not to scratch the surrounding gelcoat.

3. Catalyze with 2-5 drops of MEKP per teaspoon of gel paste.

4. Work the catalyzed gel paste into the gouge, thoroughly wetting the surface
and working out as many air bubbles as possible.

A high quality clear isothalic gelcoat used with metal flake or as a clear or “Tinted
Transparent” coating for surfboards, sailboards or skylights.  NO wax, will not cure

308 PURE WHITE GELCOAT

355 GEL PASTE REPAIR KIT
A trowelable gelcoat putty for repairing cracks, gouges or holes in
polyester gelcoat, cures tack free.  Wet sand with 400 grit and finer.   Then buff to a gloss.  Kit includes gel paste, catalyst, sandpaper, mixing stick, spreader and wax paper.  Comes in neutral and white.   The neutral can be pigmented to desired color.
